Spring is starting soon! We don’t know about you, but we’re just about ready for some sunshine. At Absolute Comfort, our goal is to help every customer make sure their cooling system is ready not only for spring — but the incoming heat of summer, too. Now is the time to take a good look at your air conditioning system to make sure you’re prepared for the warmer months of the year… and to avoid any unnecessary repairs!
How Did it Do Last Summer?
Last summer may seem like a lifetime ago — and it isn’t even quite spring yet — but you might just remember how well (or not well) your AC performed last year. Did it make sputtering or clanging noises when it started? Did it emit any strange odors that were cause for concern? Was it having trouble cooling the home properly, even though it was working?
We all lead very busy lives, and we understand that it’s easy to let these things slip by. So this year, why not have your AC tuned up and repaired to prepare for the rest of the year? It’s possible it might not make it through the spring and summer if there is a lingering issue that hasn’t been addressed!
When Was the Last Time Your AC Was Checked?
When something is running the way it should, such as a car or an appliance, we tend not to give it much thought. The air conditioner keeps your house cool and comfortable, and there haven’t been any big issues, so why bother having it inspected?
Even if your air conditioner is working as expected (or mostly as expected) it’s always a good idea to have an AC tune up performed at least once per year. Even if no AC repairs are required, regular maintenance helps your air conditioner to perform optimally — which can not only keep you cooler, but also save money on utility bills. Don’t forget to ask us about our money-saving HVAC maintenance plans, where you can save on your regular visits and get reminders so you don’t have to remember!
Check Your Ductwork
Once your air conditioner is ready to go, it’s a good idea to have your ductwork inspected as well. Spring and summer can be tough for those suffering from allergies, and a lot of the problems can stem from poor indoor air quality. If it’s been a few years since your ducts have been cleaned, we strongly recommend having our full service duct cleaning performed before your AC needs to start running every day.
Your ducts may also be leaking as cool air moves through them to reach the entire house. This can lead to poor air flow and decreased energy efficiency, since your AC will have to work harder to cool the house down to your desired temperature. Our team can shore up any leaks and make sure no duct junctions or trunks have come loose.
